5 key points for selecting a camping table

05-01-2024

As one of the most important camping equipment, and the market is filled with various camping tables, how to choose a good one

Blow are 5 key points for selecting a camping table:

1 Scalability/Functionality

2. Storage

3. Stability

4.Load capacity

5. Expand size

Scalability/Functionality

Recently, there have been more and more camping table designs that can make many different changes, such as "expanding accessories", "extending tabletops", "serving as kitchen tabletops", and so on. Match according to your own needs.

Storage

Like other camping equipment, the storage size must be strictly considered. In addition to considering the storage space at home, a more important question is whether the car can accommodate it.

The storage of camping tables can also be divided into "plate" and "column". Generally, "Chicken rolls table" is in column shape, and "folding table" is in plate shape. I think cylindrical storage is easier to store, but it is also important to note that the length should not be too long as it may not fit into the trunk or get stuck in the wheel arches of the car.

Stability

On the camping table, sometimes it may be necessary to place hot soup, a stove, etc. You definitely don't want these things to overturn! So the stability of the table is very important.

Load capacity

The load capacity of a camping table is one of the data we often refer to, but it represents a "uniform load" rather than a concentrated load,

So, no matter how high its load is, try not to challenge it recklessly. The "load value" only needs to be used as a reference for safety.

Expand size

The unfolding size of the camping table can be divided into two parts for discussion: desktop size and desktop height.

Desktop size:

The selection of desktop size must consider the number of users and the size of space. If there are many campers, a larger or longer desktop is usually needed to meet the usage needs. But it cannot be too large, and you must also consider the size of your tent space, especially if you are using a more enclosed living room tent instead of a more open canopy, the entire space may feel cramped.

I have also seen others calculate the ratio of "table area/table weight" or "desktop performance/storage volume" as a basis for choosing a camping table, but I believe that if you are someone who pursues "lightweight camping", making such a comparison is enough.

Desktop height:

I think the height of the desktop greatly affects the user experience. You must choose a desktop height that you like and match it with your camping chair height to choose from. A height of around 40-55 centimeters is considered a "low table", while a height of around 55-75 centimeters is considered a "high table". Tables above 75 centimeters or below 40 centimeters, one may need to stand up and the other may need to sit on the ground, and I do not recommend these two heights as the main camping tables.

Fortunately, there are many camping table legs that can be adjusted in height, and you can adjust the height of the table according to your preferences. There are two types of height adjustments: segmented and non segmented.

"Segmented" refers to the fixed height of each grid that you can choose to adjust. The advantage of "non segmented" is that it can be adjusted freely between the maximum and minimum values, but the disadvantage is that it is more flexible
